Question:
How can I ensure the synchronization of multiple DACs?
Answer:
These are the steps to follow to ensure the synchronization between multiple DACs:
1.Ensure that the clock traces to the DACs are of the same length (no skew between lines).
2.Power up the DACs synchronously.
3.Wait for the power supplies (especially VEED) to reach their steady state (this may take a few microseconds to a few seconds depending on the supplies.)
4.Once the supplies have reached their steady state, enable the clock to all DACs synchronously. The clock must be very clean and if the clock is differential it should transition from low to high levels (or high to low levels) without oscillation and the first clock occurrence should last more than 100 ps. If the clock is single-ended, it should transition from high to low at start-up.
5.The DSP clocks of the DACs are then all in phase. All the DACs start the same way.

Notes:
1. A counter can be used to determine when the clock can be
enabled after power up.
2. If the clock starts as illustrated below, there is no guarantee that
the DACs will start synchronously (they may start on different edges of the clock).
It is a strong requirement that the clock starts with clean transitions.
