SkyScan Microtomography Systems

e2v scientific instruments is the official UK distributor for SkyScan NV, world leading manufacturuers of laboratory X-ray micro-tomography systems for applications in material science, engineering, life sciences, bio-medical research, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing etc.

X-ray micro-tomography (also often referred to as micro-CT, MicroCT, MCT or XMT) is a technique which uniquely exposes the internal microstructure of a material sample at micron level resolution in a totally non-destructive way. The range of systems available today from SkyScan gives scientists from many fields of interest access to internal microstructures using a convenient laboratory based instrument.

Typical application areas are life sciences, bone research, pharmaceuticals, earth sciences, geology, materials sciences, process engineering, metal and polymer foams, composite materials and a wealth of other fields where microscopic structure forms an integral part of material charcterisation.
