The SiriusSD-U EDS SDD Detector upgrade kit

Our unique detector upgrade kit provides a simple guaranteed route to improving existing Si(Li) based EDS Microanalysis systems by converting the existing x-ray detector to a new state-of-the-art Silicon Drift Detector (SDD).

The upgrade kit comes as a complete solution ready to fit onto the SEM and is fully compatible with most existing EDS systems. The new SDD is delivered complete with power supply, cabling and a full installation guide and user instruction manual.

e2v engineers are available to help with installation either directly or via our worldwide network of local partners.

Key benefits

  • SiriusSD® is available as a replacement for all makes of Si(Li) detector on most existing EDS platforms
  • It incorporates and delivers all the benefits of the latest SDD detector technology
  • SiriusSD® provides improved resolution and increased count rate capability with excellent low energy sensitivity => faster sample throughput
  • Future proof design - the new SDD detector can easily be transferred to a different SEM and alternative EDS system
  • Lower cost of ownership - no need for liquid nitrogen and the associated health and safety requirements
  • Flexible and easy to use - just switch on when required
  • No need for new training as the familiar EDS electronic system and software will be retained
  • Robust and reliable technology - with over 1000 e2v SiriusSD detectors in the field today, it’s a product that you can trust
