X-ray dental sensors

A flexible approach to CCD and CMOS digital dental x-ray imaging is offered by e2v to suit the exacting requirements of the dental imaging OEM market.

e2v offers dental equipment manufacturers custom design CCD and CMOS dental image sensors and drive electronics for the following applications:
 

Intra-oral

e2v offers best-in-class sensors integrating high end CMOS design coupled with high performance x-ray conversion layers for uncompromised image quality. Two sensor sizes are available: image area dimensions are 20 mm x 30 mm and 26 mm x 36 mm respectively for size 1 and size 2 sensors. Our patented four clipped-corner design ensures perfect comfort for patients.

Each CMOS sensor is supplied as a complete stand-alone unit, comprising a hermetically sealed package with cable and USB connector. Sensors are delivered with a Software Development Kit for integration into the OEM’s practice management software. No external interface electronics is needed thanks to the direct USB connection.

Extra-Oral

Extra-oral sensors include both panoramic and cephalometric sensors. The devices consist of several elementary TDI CCD sensors butted together onto a single package, delivering an image area length of 138 mm for the panoramic sensor and 230 mm for the cephalometric sensor. e2v’s mastery of manufacturing processes results in minimal dead zones between elementary dice and perfect coupling of the scintillation layer, ensuring high-end image quality.
