Against a backdrop of growth and change across the organisation, this position is required to act as a key link between the operations and engineering group. The incumbent will be expected to drive a continuous improvement mindset and use relevant engineering methodologies to raise levels of customer satisfaction and overall profitability. The incumbent will be required to extend the performance of high efficiency charge coupled devices through the development of the production process. To originate novel process solutions for custom project requirements and then oversee their introduction into production.
Main Accountabilities:
Develop process capabilities suitable for project requirements on time and in budget.
Ensuring instructions and training aids are current, controlled, in line with any applicable regulations and in a suitable format.
Build effective relationships with manufacturing team and provide hands on support/ownership of the line to minimise down time.
Implementation, documentation, management and maintenance of process control systems (SPC etc).
Identify and drive improvement opportunities through analysis of yield, Scrap & Rework.
Coach and develop other Technical Manufacturing staff.
Highlight potential process improvements such as automation opportunities or major cost down opportunities.
Effective management of customer returns ensuring optimum customer service.
Specification and introduction of metrology suitable for in line monitoring and control of new processes. Establish through correlation with device test relevant control limits.
Essential Experience:
Education to degree or equivalent within Engineering or related discipline.
3+ years experience in process support in wafer fabrication.
Practical experience of SPC, DOE, and experience of using 6 sigma tools to problem solve.
Awareness of lean manufacturing techniques.
