We have an opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join the Production Group in Chelmsford on a permanent basis.

Working within the Production Group, the Quality Engineer provides technical support to Operations and Business Units in meeting quality requirements of customers, standards, and various regulatory regimes. Customer-focussed, the Quality Engineer’s role is to ensure that customer expectations are met or exceeded through proper planning and control, and in the event of any problem to ensure that appropriate root cause investigation takes place and that corrective and preventive action is planned, tested and implemented.

Main Accountabilities
· Quality planning activities – New Product Introduction Process, Quality Plans, Engineering to Production handover, Product Release.
· Failure analysis, problem solving and corrective action
· Customer complaint resolution
· Deviation management control
· Product and process auditing
· Change management
· Customer returns analysis and improvement
· Continual improvement of Product and Processes
· Liaison for external audits (product certification bodies and customers)

Experience Required
Essential
· Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g. ISO9001, ISO/TS16949, AS9100)
· Competent in using a range of quality tools and methodologies including six-sigma tools
· Experienced auditor
· Ability to work with customers at all levels
· Ability to work with all levels within the company
· Good communication skills
· Capability in training, mentoring and coaching others
· Methodical and detailed approach to work

Desirable
Professional qualification in quality (e.g. MIQA)
