We have an opportunity for a Development Engineer to join the Engineering team at our head office in Chelmsford, Essex. Development Engineers play a key role in developing and characterising high quality custom image sensors for e2v’s image sensor portfolio for a wide range of cutting edge applications from space missions to DNA sequencing.
Main Accountabilities:
- Define and develop suitable regimes for the characterisation and test of devices,
- Identify & solve unusual technical problems during test & characterisation.
- Communicate technical information to internal and external interested parties (written and verbal) in style relevant to the audience.
- Further your understanding of CCDs and related aspects through investigations and improvement projects.
- Ensure test or characterisation related sections of documents are appropriately defined.
Skills & experience required:
- Possess a degree or equivalent in Physics or Engineering discipline.
- Experience desirable but not essential.
- Understanding of solid-state physics.
- Excellent team working skills.
- Time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Occasional travel may be required.
