Chelmsford, Essex - 14 August 2006 - e2v technologies' Sales and Marketing Director, John Brewster has been invited to join the Board of Governors at Anglia Ruskin University.
e2v technologies, a leading manufacturer of high-technology electronic components and subsystems, has been a part of Chelmsford's history for nearly 60 years and has long recognised the vital role played by the education system in bringing through the next generation of skilled employees. For much of that time e2v has run apprentice and graduate schemes, providing employment opportunities to the local community and promoting science and engineering to young people as an exciting career path.
John Brewster, said 'I am delighted to accept a position on Anglia Ruskin University's Board of Governors. Engineering and science have in recent times suffered as a career option due to the general move away from manufacturing in the UK; we at e2v want to promote the high-technology manufacturing industry as a career path that would be varied, challenging and fulfilling. This is a great opportunity for me to contribute to the direction of educating the next generation.'
e2v recognise the importance of increasing the number of young people choosing to study science or engineering courses, in order to ensure the future of high-technology manufacturing in the UK. A closer partnership with Anglia Ruskin University will provide e2v with the opportunity to play a part in helping shape the future path of local education.
