- Titlee2v wins award for waste management
- Date22 October 2007

e2v has won an award at the Eastex materials exchange annual conference for waste segregation and materials exchange at its Chelmsford and Lincoln sites.
Eastex is the unique materials exchange scheme for the East of England, which aims to reduce the amount of business waste sent to landfill by allowing the waste materials of one business to be exchanged and reused by another business.
The Eastex Manager's Choice award was presented to Alan Pamphilon, e2v’s Environmental Coordinator by Will Pope, Chairman of the Eastex Annual Conference, held at the Keystone Innovation Centre Thetford.
The award was presented to e2v for the contribution made to the local community and for setting up numerous exchanges in and outside the realm of Eastex, and for embedding Eastex into waste strategy and social responsibility activities.
Alan Pamphilon commented, ‘the Eastex service is a great way to promote the principle of finding someone else to reuse what is no longer useful to you. We have embraced this principle because we can see the environmental benefits, and we hope that having our activities recognised like this will encourage more companies to join in’
