e2v, a leading designer, developer and manufacturer of specialised components and subsystems, is delighted to annouced its sponsorship of Superkart racing driver Stuart Parker, an Electronic Technician Apprentice from its Lincoln site.
 
Stuart, who joined e2v in 2003 has been racing since 1996 and currently competes in the British Superkart Series. He finished the 2006 season 2nd in the Division 2 British Championship, with 4 wins out of 6, and 4th in the British Division 1 Championship. This makes Stuart a seeded driver in two British Kart Championships. This year he is setting his sights on being crowded 250 National Champion and European Division 2 Champion.
 
e2v’s Lincoln site manufactures a range of sensors and components for the automotive industry and Stuart has worked in the team developing car alarm sensors. Stuart says, "With e2v’s financial support and the engineering knowledge I am gaining through karting and my engineering apprenticeship at e2v, I am now able to push harder and challenge the best drivers in Europe".   Stuart is next racing at Mallory Park on September 9th 2007.

  • Aerospace & Defence: Sensor technology includes products for military surveillance, targeting and guidance, space-based imaging and astronomy, radar, electronic warfare, and broadband data converters and microprocessors for aerospace applications.  Electronic tubes provide the enabling technology behind radars, electronic countermeasures (ECM), electronic warfare and satellite communications.
  • Commercial & Industrial: Sensor technology includes marine radars, industrial safety sensors, automotive radars and alarms, thermal imaging cameras used by fire fighters, CCD and CMOS high resolution line scan cameras for industrial inspection. Electronic tubes provide enabling technology behind TV broadcast, satellite communications, marine radar and food & industrial processing.
