e2v, a leading developer and manufacturer of high-technology
electronic components and sub-systems headquartered in Chelmsford, Essex, celebrates its 60th birthday in 2007. As part of the celebrations, e2v has committed to long-term support for local charities by establishing the e2v foundation.
The e2v foundation will be managed by Essex Community Foundation, a local grant making charitable trust, which manages funds on behalf of companies and individuals wanting to support charitable activity in Essex, and will build to a 6-figure sum over the next 4 years.
The foundation will form a key part of the overall charitable activities of the company, which include support for individual charities local to and affecting its employees in all of its global facilities, and encouragement for employees to become involved in local fundraising activities by match funding against their individual efforts.
“Essex Community Foundation is delighted to be working with e2v, helping them to maximise their charitable giving and knowledge of community activity,” said Laura Warren, Chief Executive of Essex Community Foundation.
Keith Attwood, Managing Director, said: “Essex has been a friend to e2v for the last 60 years and I am very proud that we are a successful and growing international technology company headquartered right here in Chelmsford. This fund further demonstrates our commitment to provide long term help and support for the communities in which we work”.
