Work experience at e2v

Logistics

Job role overview: 
A staff member to support all of the Logistics functions.  Working within a team to accurately process the receipt of materials into the business, and shipments to customers.

Main Accountabilities:
•Within the Logistics functions, ensure the flow of materials is quick and efficient and meets local demands
•Aid customers with any part problems or stock queries and assist in their timely resolution
•Ensure all Health and Safety regulations and Manual Handling guidelines are adhered to within the working area while showing a duty of care to others within the area
•Support improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects where required

The work experience placement provided will consist of shadowing the Logistics team on the duties outlined above.

Supply Chain Planning

Job role overview: 
The role will work closely with colleagues within all areas of the business to deliver world-class Supply-Chain services, strong delivery performance and customer satisfaction

Main Accountabilities:
•To work with the manufacturing team to help plan in the requirements in a timely manner
•In relationship with production, participate to the Master Production Schedule (MPS) meeting and create the MPS documents for production to adhere to considering labour and machine capacity.
•Liaise with Suppliers to place orders in a timely manner and expedite materials in to meet the set plan

The work experience placement provided will consist of shadowing the Supply Chain team on the duties outlined above.

Mechanical Design

Job Role Overview:

The Mechanical Design Engineer will provide a mechanical design and technical draughting service to the product groups, working concurrently with engineers with other disciplines (e.g. RF, Analysis, Product, Project, Manufacturing, Quality etc.) to embody design intent into product data packages, utilizing CAD and CAE modelling tools as appropriate.
They shall work as part of a centralised team that provide a mechanical design and CAE simulation service to the whole company. This team sits within the Engineering Services department; other services provided by Engineering Services include Machining, PCB Design, Reliability Engineering and Documentation Control.

Main Accountabilities:

This work experience placement will consist of shadowing e2v’s RF Power division to provide an overview of our capabilities in designing, machining, testing and processing the component parts which come together to build the components and subsystems we provide to our customers. Alongside this we will tour the facility and show you our products.

Human Resources

Job role overview:
During this insight week you will develop a better understanding of the HR function of a business. You will spend a day in the shared services, recruitment, learning and development and communications teams.

Main Accountabilities:
Depending on which discipline you are working with you will shadow the day-to-day tasks of that area. This will vary depending on the key focus for the week.
