e2v is committed to reducing its overall environmental impact of its operations and uses a globally deployed environmental management system to deliver programmes of continual improvement focused on identified key impacts.
In addition the products provided by e2v are often required to work in demanding environments whilst operating at the optimum levels of performance and reliability. Such demands often require the use of chemical substances in both the manufacturing process and inclusion of finished articles, which can be hazardous to human health and the environment. Therefore e2v continues to support programmes aimed at reducing or replacing these substances wherever technically and economically feasible to do so.
Although not subject to specific company targets currently, e2v also monitors other environmental indicators such as water consumption and encourages the inclusion of additional targets at local business unit level relevant to their own local operations or processes.
The e2v Group* holds certification to ISO14001.
e2v performance against specific improvement targets are detailed in the following web pages.
e2v participates in the Business in the Community (BITC) Environmental Index to benchmark environmental management against other UK organisations.
* Santa Clara, California operates to an independent EMS, however participates in the Group overall objectives.
