Apprenticeship scheme

Triple Circles

The application process for the 2014 Apprenticeship Scheme is now closed.

e2v has some of the world’s most exciting and varied technology from Thermal Imaging Cameras for the fire and police services, CCD Imaging sensors for space missions and Magnetrons for medical radiotherapy treatment. Our customers include NASA, ESA, Elekta and Boeing who we work with to provide specialist technology solutions. We are listed on the London Stock Exchange and achieved sales over £230 million for 2012 / 2013.

With a long standing apprenticeship programme, we have a reputation for investing in our apprentices to help them reach their full potential, ensuring they are stretched and supported throughout the programme. e2v’s apprenticeship schemes bring to life the systems and products that lie at the core of our rapidly evolving business.

Our apprentices are based at our site in Chelmsford, Essex and our partner college is Oaklands College in Welwyn Garden City. We offer two types of scheme:

Advanced Apprenticeship – Ideal for candidates who have achieved strong GCSE’s and are keen to start a career in Engineering. This is a three year programme during which level 3 BTEC and NVQ qualifications are achieved as well as the level 2 Performing Engineering Operations (PEO). More information on the scheme and the eligibility criteria can be found here.

Higher Apprenticeship – Suitable for candidates who have exceptional GCSE and A-Level results or who have achieved relevant BTEC and NVQ Level 3 qualifications as well as exceptional GCSE grades. This is a four-year programme during which HNC, HND and BEng qualifications in Engineering will be completed as well as level 2 Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) and NVQ level 4. More information on the scheme and the eligibility criteria can be found here.

Choosing the right scheme will depend on career aspirations and current level of qualification. For ambitious Advanced Apprentices wishing to gain the relevant qualifications to accelerate their careers it is entirely possible to progress through both schemes.

For more information about our apprenticeship schemes, or e2v, please come along to our Apprenticeship Open Day on Friday 21st February at 106 Waterhouse Lane, Chelmsford, Essex, CM1 2QU. Visitors will be welcome to drop in between 2.30pm and 6.30pm. No appointment necessary.

Our application process is now closed and will reopen January 2015.
